In a globalized world, promoting innovation is indispensable to achieve sustainable development. The annual conference initiated and hosted by Foreign Trade University (FTU) on “Innovation and Integration for Development – VIID) is to provide an academic platform to have insights into the significance of innovation and integration in sustainable development.
Since 2020, the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic has threatened health, lives, and livelihoods of billions of people all over the world. Millions of people have died; Millions of enterprises have been closed; Millions of people have lost their jobs. Nevertheless, we have been adapting and thriving from the crisis, of which opportunities come with challenges. All countries, governments, enterprises, and individuals have been trying hard to rise and thrive. As a typical example, Vietnam has been successful in coping with the pandemic while maintaining economic growth. Adaption has become the key strategy for all governments, organizations, and individuals. There are specific contexts with diversified constraints but successful lessons, which come from not only the public sector but also the private sector, can be shared and learnt.
FTU is, therefore, pleased to host the first VIID conference on Adaptation and Thriving through the Covid-19 Pandemic – VIID 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam, during 08-09 September 2022.
The VIID 2022 will present the latest research findings and theoretical development in addressing micro and macro development issues so that policymakers and enterprise and organization leaders could adopt and adapt with their specific contexts to overcome challenges to thrive through the Covid-19 pandemic.
FTU proudly invites academics and professionals working in any specialty fields of development to contribute to the conference by presenting papers, participating in discussions, and attending workshops. The conference accepts manuscripts of original research that has not been published elsewhere. Researchers and scholar-practitioners are invited to contribute papers.
