About Transportation

Singapore Changi Airport is well-connected to the city center, which is approximately 20 km (12.4 miles) away. To reach the Downtown Core, there are various options such as using the MRT (train), buses, taxis, private hire vehicles (PHVs), or airport transfer services.

  1. MRT (Train):

Taking the train is an economical option for traveling from Changi Airport to downtown.

  • Time: Approximately 40-50 minutes.
  • How To: Take the MRT from Changi Airport MRT Station (CG2) and follow the directions to your desired destination.
  • Payment: You can use contactless Mastercard/Visa/NETS bank cards, mobile wallets, *stored-value EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay cards, and Singapore Tourist Pass. Do note that admin fees apply for payments with foreign-issued bank cards.

  1. Bus:

The bus offers another affordable option for traveling from Changi Airport to the city.

  • Time: Approximately 1 hour or more.
  • How To:
  1. Terminals 1, 2 and 3:

Bus stops are located at the basement bus bays. You can take buses 24, 27, 34, 36,

53, 110 and 858 from there.

  1. Terminal 4:

At the bus stop next to Car Park 4B, you can take buses 24, 34, 36 and 110. At the

bus stop near the SATS Inflight Catering Centre 1, you can take buses 27, 53 and

858.

  • Payment: You can use contactless Mastercard/Visa/NETS bank cards, mobile wallets, *stored-value EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay cards, and Singapore Tourist Pass. Alternatively, you may use cash to pay for your bus fare. Please prepare the exact fare for your trip as no change will be given.

*Stored-value EZ-Link cards can be purchased from any Changi Recommends store, and at the Passenger Service Centre or TransitLink Ticket Office at Changi MRT Airport Station.

  1. Taxi:

Opting for a metered taxi provides a quick and comfortable means of transportation, particularly convenient if you have a significant amount of luggage.

  • Time: Approximately 30 minutes.
  • How to: Follow the signs to the taxi stands at the airport.
  • Cost: Around S$25-S$45, with an additional Airport Surcharge for trips originating from the airport, according to Changi Airport.
  1. Private Hire Vehicles (PHVs):

You can also arrange for a private hire vehicle from services like Grab, Gojek, Ryde, Tada, or Zig for transportation from the airport.

  • Time: Approximately 30 minutes.
  • How to: Make a booking via the respective transport providers’ mobile applications (downloadable on Apple App Store and Google Play Store) and head to the Arrival and Ride-Hailing pick-up points at Terminals 1, 2, 3 or 4.
  • Cost: Similar to taxis, but may offer pre-booked rates.
  1. Airport Transfer

There is a 24-hour Ground Transport Concierge (GTC) that offers convenient transfers from Changi Airport to your destination.
